Insider tip: Arriving at Tahiti Faa'a International Airport, you'll be greeted with sweet-scented flower necklaces and song. Built on the lagoon edge, the airport is five kilometers west of Papeete, with several major hotels nearby. The domestic terminal is right alongside the international, with the Air Moorea terminal 300m furhter on. Some Air Tahiti Nui flights from Los Angeles also connect directly to and from Moorea, Bora Bora, Huahine, Raiatea, Rangiroa... When visiting the outer islands, some international schedules may necessitate a night in Tahiti.
